Purdue Regional Climate Model (PRCM) – Model that I helped develop and use for research

Three-dimensional hydrostatic primitive equation model that utilizes the terrain-following normalized pressure (sigma-p) coordinate in the vertical.

Arakawa staggered C grid is used in both horizontal and vertical directions.

The model has prognostic equation for momentum, heat, surface pressure, turbulent kinetic energy (TKE), and all phases of water.

Forward-backward scheme (Sun 1984) is used for terms involved in the inertial gravity waves.

Horizontal advection is computed using a combination of Crowley fourth-order and Gadd scheme (Sun 1993).

The pressure gradient force terms are computed by the introduction of a local reference (Sun 1995).

Time-splitting technique is used in time integrations.
