Mass Media Assignment

First, be certain the following fact sheets are updated:

Association for Women in Communication (AWC)

Festival of Voices (FOV)

Christian Action Coalition (CAC)

Music Enterprise Service Association (MESA)

Then complete the following communication pieces:

  1. Print—news release: Design for mass distribution and list yourself as the contact.

    2. Remember include a list of people you will be sending this news release to.
     
  2. Broadcast: write a 15 sec and 30 sec PSA. Remember writing for broadcast means:

    3. Few words, focus on active verbs, accurate & creative, and descriptive words. Must be easily read, so test by reading out loud – maybe have a friend read for you. Also, a one-minute TV script—so use the audio but expand—add a column for visuals and other technical cues.
     
  3. Outdoor (poster): Create a poster (can use 8 1/2 by 11 inch paper) and use logo. Now you have to cut and paste or word process or desk top your ideas (be certain to put your name on the back). Remember this is a poster—not a flyer. Suggest locations.

    4. Also, create sayings for a marquee—at least two. Suggest locations
     
  4. Flyer: Create a flyer to distribute. List sites where you will distribute. Must use logo. Suggest locations for distribution.

  5. Electronic: Create an electronic message for distribution—be creative and not offensive. Also design a one-page web site—do not have to actually stage on the server but create the information and visuals you will use as one likes to see on a web site. Be certain to use a point size greater than 12 pts and make very creative.
So nothing is hard. This is an opportunity to make the Festival of Voices come alive. Keep all work on separate sheets and your name on everything. Then these will be distributed to the various groups to get them started. Note that you must know: a) format, b) content, and c) target audiences and/or location. Due Tuesday.
