Class Projects

Class projects for this semester consist of group projects in text annotation and performance. Beginning on May 3, originators of the projects will present them to the class.

May 3, 2000: Texts on Exploration and on Religion

• Nathan Baylor, portions of Hariot's A Brief and True Report of the Newfound Land of Virginia.
• April Moe and Beth Ruane, the martyrdom account of William Tyndale from Foxe's Book of Acts and Monuments
• Lorie Kolak and Patrick Sanchez, Elizabethan surveys of church furniture in Lincolnshire churches (saints' images, vestments, etc).

May 5, 2000: Texts on Gender and on Poetry

• Krista Kutz and Jen Janke, Juan Luis Vives' The Instruction of a Christian Woman.
• Megan Roby and Sarah Noll, Amelia Lanyer's preface "to all vertous women" from Salve Deus Rex Judaeorum.
• Sarah Jacobsen and Mandy McQuaid, Shakespeare's sonnets 20 and 130.
• Joel Boehm, Carol Braun, and Erin Creed present on Donne's "The Sun Rising," "Go and Catch a Falling Star," and "The Relique".

May 8, 2000: Theatrical Presentation

Studio Space, the VUCA., 11:50-12:40.

• Terry Brandush, Kat Harbaugh, Tara Christianson, Kristin Stonestreet, Amber Hilgenkamp, and Waylon Werner read from/ act out the final scene of Marlowe's Dr. Faustus. Online program for presentation.
